Growing up in Palestine/ Israel was an experience that has rewarded him with a rich repository of indelible images and emotions, which he draws from and are an intrinsic ingredient in the Schary oeuvre.

After World War II, he left Israel for New York to complete his studies in fine art. He developed an immediate and irrevocable love of the color, life, and earthiness of his two favorite New Yorks, the old and the new.

Emanuel Schary’s artistic style is characterized by a love of detail that is rare, a gift that is born out of a highly developed sense of observation.

A work of art by Schary is immediately recognizable by its unusual expression of technical detail combined with a concise compositional focus. This gives the whole work of art a unique visual signature and the stylistic identity that makes it a “Schary.”

Mr. Schary released his first lithographs in 1966. His editions sold out upon publication, making his works a favorite for serious art collectors and those who fell in love with his images. People of all religions and races own Schary works of art. “Art has no bounds,” said Schary.

All Schary editions were published exclusively by Jem Publishers Ltd, NYC. Every piece in an edition is hand-signed, numbered, and has a stamped seal for authenticity. This certifies that the work of art is an original limited edition graphic approved, signed, and numbered by Emanuel Schary. All production elements were destroyed after the specific number of authorized prints were pulled.

Due to the small edition sizes and limited number of graphics he drew over his lifetime, Emanuel Schary’s works are valued for their beauty and rarity.
